Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Database Architect to design and optimize the data architecture for a high-transaction banking application. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and database security within financial services. Should have knowledge of  cloud-based data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance database architectures for large-scale banking applications.
  • Develop database solutions using Oracle 19c and above, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, or other distributed databases.
  • Optimize database performance, indexing strategies, partitioning, and query tuning.
  • Define data governance policies to ensure compliance with financial regulations (PCI-DSS, GDPR, etc.).
  • Design and implement ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and real-time analytics solutions.
  • Work closely with application architects, DevOps engineers, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and data flow.
  • Automate database deployment and monitoring using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes operators.
  • Provide guidance on database migrations, upgrades, and cloud adoption strategies.
  • Ensure data security best practices, encryption, and access control mechanisms are in place.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10-12 years of experience in database architecture and engineering.
  • Strong expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases such as Oracle 19c and above, PostgreSQL, MySQL,  MongoDB, Cassandra, or Google Spanner.
  • Good to have knowledge of cloud-native database solutions (AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Google Cloud Spanner, Cosmos DB, etc.).
  • Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing techniques.
  • Experience with database security principles, encryption, access control, and compliance regulations.
  • Knowledge of ETL pipelines, data lakes, and real-time data processing.
