The Sugarcane ERP system for more than 6 million sugarcane farmers in Uttar Pradesh developed by Amity Software for the Sugar Industry & Cane Development Department Uttar Pradesh, India was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr Yogi Adityanath, in an event in Lucknow on 13 November 2019. The E-Ganna mobile application and portal serves the 169 sugarcane societies in UP. The system automates the calendaring and ‘Purchi’ Distribution System for the farmers. The mobile E-Ganna App provides up-to-date information to the farmer on his calendar, ‘Purchi’, receipt by factories and payment status.
“We have developed a comprehensive web portal and mobile application for Android and iOS users. The essence of the entire software lies in the foolproof automation and transparency in this huge task every sugar season.” says UP Cane Project Team Leader, Amity Software.
Since the launch, the mobile application has gathered close to about 300k downloads and nearly 2M web portal hits. Shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy, Principal Secretary & Cane Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh, Sugar Industry & Cane Development Department is confident that the project will curb sugarcane black market to a significant level and will elevate sugarcane farmers to a better way of life.
